Hạ Long
Hạ Long Bay (the bay of the descending dragon). Thousands of years ago, Vietnam was under constant threat of invasion from the eastern sea. The Emperor at the time asked the gods to provide protection down from the sky so they sent a mother dragon and her children to spew giant emerald rocks at the invaders and defeated them. The rocks are what formed all the islands and islets seen in Hạ Long Bay today. There are variations to this legend but that's the basic premise of it.
